Looking forward to High Season in Phuket

Looking forward to High Season in Phuket

As we move out of the Summer months and into the High Season in Phuket let’s take a look and see what is coming up.

Goodbye, October hello November.

Looking back to September we were delighted to host Gary and Helda for their wedding and the rain gods were very kind to us and the ceremony passed off in the dry and a night of dancing under the stars followed.

Wedding Ceremony ready for Gary and Helda

If you are thinking of getting married in Phuket, here are Five Great Reasons.

October sees the introduction of an updated menu from our Executive Chef and his team and the installation of our new Ice and Water making machine.

East 88 Restaurant and Beach lounge has stopped using plastic straws. We are proud to be moving towards a ‘NO PLASTIC’ bottle resort with Serenity Resort and Residences. Even more on that later.

October will see the traditional Trick or Treat and Halloween parties. After that, it is into a packed November, with the highlight being the Loy Krathong  Festival.

The end of October and into November sees the weather change the wind moves to come from the East and the Phuket West Coast Beaches start to get much busier.

Welcome to the High Season in Phuket

This November will see the Patong Carnival held over the 1st to 5th. The 25th Laguna Triathlon “The Race of Legends” held on the weekend of the 18th.   Loy Krathong one of our favourite festivals is on the 22nd.

Loy Krathong at East 88 Restaurant and Beach lounge.

The Loy Krathong Festival takes place on the evening of the 23rd November. Which is the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar.

At East 88 during the day our staff will arrange to help guest to make a Krathong. A Krathong is usually made up of Banana Tree bark as its base and decorated with banana leaves, flowers, candles and incense sticks.

Loy Krathong symbolises releasing or letting go of any hate, anger or negative energy.

High tide is at 10pm on the 22nd and there should be plenty of water or tide available (subject to weather and wind) to float the Krathongs from around 9:30pm. Therefore, if conditions are not good, we can use the swimming pool, but don’t tell the GM.

There will be a special menu and guest and visitors are able to make a table reservation by calling Reservations: +66 (0) 76 371 960, E-mail: or directly through the Website Bookings HERE
